Policies

I keep the copyright, as photographers do, and you get a license to use your photos.

• Individuals, including seniors: unlimited personal use, with a print release. Print them, post them, and use them for yearbooks, announcements, applications and your own professional profiles.
• Businesses, teams and organizations: use the finished work to promote and run your own business, in any media, with no time limit, once the invoice is paid. Sponsors, partners and other companies need their own license.
• I never sell or license your photos to anyone else, including stock sites and AI training.

Unless you opt out before the shoot, I may show photos from it on my websites, codystrate.com and upwardspiralgroup.com, and on my social accounts. Opting out is free and does not change your price.

• Senior portraits: a $200 retainer and a signed booking form.
• Everything else: a signed quote and a retainer of 50% of the price, unless your quote says otherwise.
• The retainer is not refundable, and it comes off your price.

• Weather: we move at no charge, as many times as it takes.
• Illness: we move once at no charge.
• Your schedule: move once at no charge with at least 72 hours' notice. With less notice, the retainer is forfeited and a new date needs a new retainer.
• Cancelling: the retainer is kept. Anything else you have paid is refunded, less any costs already spent on a project.
• If I have to cancel: you choose a new date or a full refund.

• You see preview photos before I finish the full set, and one round of changes is included.
• Senior portraits also come with a reshoot guarantee.
• If files are lost before delivery because of something on my side, you choose a free reshoot or a refund.

• A parent or guardian books and signs for anyone under 18.
• For portrait sessions, an adult stays for the whole session.
• Online, I use first names only and never share anything that says where to find a young person.
• Ask me to take a photo down and it comes off my website and social accounts within 7 days.

I use your information only to run your booking and deliver your work. I never sell it.
