Plan
A conversation first: where you feel most like yourself, what to wear, and who these pictures are really for.
Shoot
An unhurried session, usually around golden hour. We laugh, we wander, and the posing fades.
Deliver
A yearbook photo within 5 days, then a private gallery of at least 30 or 50 finished photos within 14 days. I choose and finish every one.

How do we hold a date?+
Send a request through the form on this site and I'll reply with open dates. A $200 retainer and a signed booking form hold your date. The retainer comes off your price, and the balance is due 48 hours before the session.
What if the weather doesn't cooperate?+
If the weather is unsafe or wrong for portraits, we move the session at no charge, as many times as it takes. I make that call by noon on the day of the session.
What if we need to move the session?+
You can move it once at no charge with at least 72 hours' notice, and once at no charge if your senior is sick. With less than 72 hours' notice, or if you don't arrive, the retainer is forfeited and a new date needs a new retainer. If you've already paid the balance, I refund it.
When do we get the yearbook photo?+
Within 5 days of the session, sized to your school's published rules. Tell me your school's deadline when you book. If it falls fewer than 7 days after your session, tell me before you pay so I can confirm I can meet it.
Do we get every photo you take?+
I choose the best photos and finish each one: at least 30 from a 75-minute session and at least 50 from a 2-hour session. I don't deliver unedited or RAW files, and there are no proofs to pick from. Your private gallery arrives within 14 days and stays online for 90 days, so download and back up your photos.
What if my senior doesn't love the photos?+
Before I finish the full gallery, I send a few preview photos so you can steer the overall look, and one round of changes is included after delivery. If your senior doesn't love their gallery, tell me within 14 days and I'll photograph them again at no charge.
Does a parent need to come?+
For seniors under 18, a parent, guardian or another adult you choose stays for the whole session. Outfit changes happen in private, and families handle their own transport between locations.
Will you post my senior's photos?+
Unless you opt out, I may share photos from the session to show my work, on codystrate.com, upwardspiralgroup.com and my social accounts. I use first names only, never post anything that says where to find a senior, tag a senior only if they ask, and never sell or give photos to anyone else, including stock sites and AI training. Opting out is free: check the box on the booking form. Ask me to take a photo down at any time and it comes off my website and social accounts within 7 days.
What can we do with the photos?+
Unlimited personal use, with a print release. Print them anywhere, post them, and use them for the yearbook, graduation announcements, college applications and recruiting profiles. Selling them, or using them to advertise a business, needs a separate license.
Where do you shoot?+
Travel is included in Boulder County and Broomfield. Places with their own photography fee, such as CU Boulder, Jefferson County open space and state parks, are added at cost.
Can we add film?+
Yes, on any session: $250 a roll on my Hasselblad. A roll is 12 frames, and you get at least 6 finished film photos about three weeks after the session. If a roll fails, I refund it in full. Your yearbook photo always comes from the digital set.
