Fred's final run
In 2025 I was fortunate to be Fred Veitch's photographer for his final run as a competitor. At 77, Fred was the oldest driver in the field. He brought a yellow 1972 Porsche ST, a faithful re-creation of the lightweight 911 that Porsche built in limited numbers from 1970 to 1972 for rallying and road racing. He named it Hans Dijon.

Race day didn't go to plan
Race day didn't go to plan. High winds cut the course short at Glen Cove, and Fred's Porsche refused to start until a crowd of Porsche mechanics tracked down the problem. He finished second in the Exhibition division, and the PPIHC used my photos in its official feature on Fred's career.
