Since they were babies
This one was personal. Ayla and my daughter Elodie were born at the same hospital around the same time and have known each other since they were babies. Photographing her at this milestone, surrounded by the people who have been there the whole way, meant a lot.

Ayla now attends Virginia Military Institute, where she swims at the NCAA Division I level.
